FairPick scales log the weight of fruit and vegetable harvested in the field. Total harvest weights can be viewed on the 2nd Sight Portal. In the event that field weights do not match weights provided by the processing facility or packing house, please consider the following possibilities:
- Moisture loss – Weight associated with water weight
- Packinghouse eliminations – Weight of removed debris and culls
- Packinghouse clerical errors – Manual transcription is error-prone
- Cheating – Weighs over container capacity
- Tare weight – Incorrect bucket tare weights
- Scale calibration – Improperly calibrated scale
- Unassigned badges – Weight not included in reports
- Min weigh interval – Weight not included in reports
- FairPick Flex Fast Scale – If "Fast Scale" is enabled in CONFIG on the FairPick Flex, the system no longer requires 3 seconds of scale stabilization to register an employee badge and log weight. This could result in less accurate data due to weight fluctuations resulting from wind, vibration, or movement (somebody learning on the scale, for example).
