The Workday Start Time setting found in Manage --> Settings on the Portal can offer many growers a solution for how to handle a night shift. However, for some, there is no set time between the end of the night shift and beginning of the day shift which means it is not possible to choose one time as the Workday Start Time.
For example, if the night crew typically clocks out around 6:00 AM, and the first morning shift employees clock in at 5:00 AM, the overlap means there is no Workday Start Time that will accommodate your operation.
An alternative to handle a crew of night shift employees is to create a completely separate online Portal where the appropriate time can be selected as the Workday Start Time. If you believe this is the best fit for you, contact your 2nd Sight rep to discuss setup of this account.
