InstaCaliper: Measure a Tree Diameter

To measure diameter, the Ruggedized Handheld Computer (RHC) must be connected to the caliper head.

Enabling InstaCaliper diameter displays and saves tree measurements in diameter rather than circumference.  For information on circumference measurements, see InstaCaliper: Measure Tree Circumference.

1. Press the “Config” icon on the bottom of the screen.
2. Enable "Caliper" by checking the "Disabled" box to the right of the word "Caliper." The box should turn green, show a check mark, and change to "Enabled."
3. Choose the size caliper head you will be using:  50mm (2"), 100mm (4"), or 150mm (6") by clicking on the circle next to the head size. The chosen circle will turn blue.
4. Under Measure, choose "Diameter." The chosen circle will turn blue.
