If you pay employees for Non Productive time, i.e., time related to the job but not the job (e.g., moving from the office to the fields, putting a uniform on at the job site, etc.), you may wish to record this time separately from time actually spent on the job. You can do this several ways:
Use the Employee Profile
- Log in to your Web Portal (https://portal.2ndsightbio.com/login).
- Choose Workers--Profiles on the navigation bar.
- Select an existing Profile or create a new one.
- In the "Edit Profile" screen, under the "Non Productive," enter the number of minutes that the employee will be paid for Non Productive time in the "Quantity" box.
- If an the employee clocks in or registers for work on any given day, these nonproductive minutes will be automatically added to the employee's pay. You will see the time paid under the "Nonproductive Hours" column on the standard Reports.
- NOTE: If you a Profile and need to update pay information retroactively, you will need to use the "Recalculate" function. See Apply Change Retroactively.
Use the "Nonproductive Task Type"
- Log in to your Web Portal (https://portal.2ndsightbio.com/login).
- Choose Manage --> Tasks on the navigation bar.
- Add a Task and give it a name that reflects Non Productive time (like "Nonproductive Time").
- Select the Task Type "Nonproductive."
- Select any appropriate Lists and add a Payroll Code (optional).
- Click "Save."
- To load this Task on your devices, be sure to "sync" your device(s) after the Task is added.
- When employees clock in and clock out of this Nonproductive Type Task, the time will be recorded as Nonproductive and will appear under the "Nonproductive Hours" column of the standard reports.
For FairPick Pro Only
- Perform the following steps to record Nonproductive time using the FairPick Pro scale
- Press "In"
- Press "Print"
- Scan an employee Badge
- Press "Print" and the receipt will read "NONPRODUCTIVE" (optional)
- This time will automatically populate the "Nonproductive Hours" column on the standard reports.
WARNING: Employers may wish to consult an attorney regarding pay for nonproductive time.
